Petra Modular boasts comprehensive capabilities in modular building technology, covering engineering, supply chain, production, logistics, and installation. Our engineering excellence, with over three decades of innovation, ensures cutting-edge, sustainable designs. This seamlessly integrates with our streamlined supply chain and production, guaranteeing efficient, high-quality modular units. Our logistics expertise ensures reliable delivery, and our skilled installation teams bring it all together on-site. We offer end-to-end solutions for your modular housing needs.

With over 30 years of research and development, we have integrated cutting-edge technology into our manufacturing and delivery processes, enabling us to deploy progressive, flexible, and customisable buildings worldwide. Through this integrated system, our team of experienced industry experts is able to effectively solve the global trillion-dollar accommodation crisis and build a transformative future for the betterment of society and the environment.

Our modular design and engineering expertise has been the cornerstone of our success. Our multidiscipline team spans architectural design, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering – all designed with manufacturing, logistics and site installation in mind (design for manufacturing and assembly, DfMA).

Our engineering approach includes complete Building Information Modelling (BIM) using industry standard software including:

  • Autodesk AEC Collection, including:
    • AutoCAD for 2D architectural drafting
    • Revit for 3D architectural drafting
    • Advance Steel for structural detailing
    • Navisworks for integrated design review
  • ETABS for structural engineering
  • PROCAD and FrameCAD for framing detailing
  • Lumion for Revit rendering.

Our clients can select from our extensive design library, or we can provide a bespoke design based on their unique project requirements.

We strive to improve with each project through our rigorous continuous improvement review process including the adoption of new processes, new designs, new technologies, innovative building materials, and more efficient production methods.

Our supply chain management process ensures compliant and quality materials, from approved international vendors are delivered on a just-in-time basis for manufacturing.

We start with precise quantity measurements using our proprietary in-house developed software platform Eco-Build Systems Manager (eSM) which calculates every component and material required for a build.

Our vendor prequalification and selection process draws upon a global network of suppliers, carefully selecting sources who have the best balance of:

  • Building code compliance (mandatory)
  • Delivery speed
  • Cost competitiveness
  • Material warranty assurance.

Petra Modular’s materials verification process is rigorous, which assures our clients of full traceability of materials to guarantee compliance with the project country’s building codes.

Our meticulous production planning ensures we achieve our productivity targets, whilst still being able to meet the international standards, compliance and project quality requirements including:

  • NCC, BCA, NZBC, AS/NZS in Australia and New Zealand
  • SIRIM, MS and BS in Malaysia
  • ANSI and HUD in the USA
  • BS, EN and BOPAS in the UK.

Our internal Integrated Management System covers all aspects of our operations and is independently accredited by Lloyd’s Register to:

  • ISO 9001 for quality management
  • ISO 14001 for environmental management
  • ISO 45001 for health and safety management.

Petra Modular’s directly employed skilled labour use their significant knowledge of off-site production methods across structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing works in our factories. Using a direct labour force with our proprietary process monitoring systems, we can accurately plan, monitor and control the production schedule.

For major projects, we implement our proprietary Eco-Build Factory-in-a-Box (eBX) technology that enables rapid deployment of a near-site or onsite Offsite Manufacturing Facility to achieve the full benefits of modular construction without the logistics constraints and costs. At a project site, we can have a new facility ready for production within three months.

Completing a building 90% in the factory before delivering to site provides many challenges to ensuring the quality and speed of the onsite work. Our dedicated in-house logistics team ensures efficient global just-in-time delivery for the onsite installation, and the careful selection of logistics partners ensures our buildings arrive safely and on schedule. This speed translates to earlier occupancy and revenue for commercial buildings and reducing the risks of late completion.

What sets us apart from traditional construction is not only our manufacturing speed (delivering more than 50% faster than traditional construction), but also the inherent structural strength of our units – having been designed for the stresses of transportation make our buildings more resilient.

We also use our years of logistics experience and detailed understanding of all forms of lifting equipment and working at heights to ensure the site installation works are done efficiently and safely.

We don’t just produce modules – we deliver completed buildings by providing a turnkey solution for our clients. Modular construction can significantly reduced project timelines, saving up to 60% on the overall schedule, and provide potential savings of up to 25% of the construction cost in some countries.

While modular buildings offer numerous advantages, they require a different approach compared to traditional on-site construction, so we ensure our clients are well-informed when it comes to the modular installation process.

Petra Modular holds licences for building construction in Australia and Malaysia where we not only complete the building finishing works, but also the external service connections using a Managing Contractor execution method. In other international markets, we would partner with a local building contractor to manage the local construction work.

When compared to traditional construction, the Petra Modular Offsite Solution (PMOS) is:

  • Inherently safer through less exposure to on-site safety hazards by working in a factory environment
  • Provides greater control of quality and compliance through detailed understanding of our supply chain
  • Significantly faster and often lower cost, with a higher quality of outcome
  • Defined, detailed and systematic providing transparency and certainty of outcome for our clients
  • Highly scalable and applies to a single module project to those requiring 1000’s of modules delivered around the world.
